LinkedIn is already a gathering place for businesses, so launching a lead gen campaign there is a no-brainer for B2B companies.

However, we’ve all gotten those spammy messages that sound like a robot wrote them: No personalization, no attempt at relationship building…just a sales pitch right off the bat. This is not the kind of campaign we’re talking about. It may look similar — sending LinkedIn messages to prospects with whom you may or may not already have a connection — but that’s where the similarity ends.

We’ve found that by sending educational, conversational, and relationship-nurturing messages, we can help our clients make real connections with their prospects.

Here’s how we build an effective lead generation campaign on LinkedIn:

  1. We determine the target audience our client wants to connect with. 
  2. We then procure a list based on the target market demographics.
  3. We identify the #1 problem or pain point the client’s target audience is facing and how our client can help solve that problem.
  4. We pull together content assets we can use to educate the audience and show how our clients can help solve their problem.
  5. We thoughtfully craft messaging, including an initial connection request plus 3-4 additional messages that are automatically sent to the prospect once they’ve accepted the connection request.
  6. Once the list and messaging are approved, we turn the campaign on and let the new opportunities for our clients roll in!

From there, all our clients have to do is follow up with the prospects who reach out. It couldn’t be easier!
