Client Success Story: An Interview With Scott Schultz of ResComPros
At Wild Fig Marketing, we love working with each of our clients to reach their audience and grow their business. And we love getting to share their ...
Merging their extensive backgrounds in marketing, design, and business strategy, owners Scott Miller and Paige Wittman established their company, Miller Wittman Retail Design Group, in 2016.
The core of their business consists of designing, developing, and implementing creative systems that showcase and build their clients’ brands. They have worked with a variety of large retail brands such as Indian Motorcycles, Polaris, and Sea Ray, just to name a few. You can see some examples of the retail spaces they’ve designed here and a complete list of their capabilities here.
Recently, the Figgy Team had the opportunity to sit down and learn more about the leadership behind this robust company. Take a look.
Scott: “The variety of the projects 100%, as there are no two businesses who are the same.”
Paige: “For me, it is learning about our clients’ businesses and how we can help them grow. I also really like the process of research and finding companies who are the best fit for us to help.”
Scott: “The technology movement is definitely impacting our clients at retail. In addition, many of our clients are transitioning from gas-powered to battery-operated; power sports, agricultural, and lawn and garden. This brings an additional educational element into the sales process.”
Paige: “Even with the increasing numbers in eCommerce, it is still under 20%. We work with products that need interaction or are working to redefine interaction with us. They are also looking to pay off the massive digital investments in-store”
One of our writers recently worked on a blog with Scott and Paige covering some of the biggest trends they are currently seeing in their industry. They discussed the importance of committing to digital content and building long-term customer relationships, among other valuable insights. For more of their thoughts on future trends in retail design and merchandising, read that blog here.
Paige: “You cannot be too reliant on any one client. Small business owners have to find a balance between serving their existing clients, developing their products, and then finding new clients.”
Scott: “From a creative standpoint, the variety of my work helps me stay focused. Each day is a little different and that keeps my mind refreshed and focused. On a personal note, finding time to get outside each day keeps my mind and body refreshed.”
Scott: “Inspiration can come from anywhere, however I have always enjoyed Walter Isaacson's books: Jobs, Da Vinci, and Code Breakers to name a few. They all have a consistent message of breaking paradigms.”
Paige: “I actually gain a lot of inspiration from reading military history and strategy and how that can be utilized in building a business.”
Scott: “Because I have a tendency to control everything around me, working with Wild Fig Marketing has allowed me to let go of things that aren’t necessarily my strengths or in my wheelhouse and give them to someone else. Greatly needed and long overdue!”
Paige: “Working with Wild Fig gives us a constant voice in the marketing world. As a growing business, it’s a voice that also needs constant attention.”
Scott and Paige, what a pleasure it was to get to know you! Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom with us.
